Privacy Policy
How SolarSight collects, uses, and protects your information — including email and SMS communications.
1. Introduction
Phoenix Solar Group Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates SolarSight, a commercial solar site assessment and prospecting platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service, including our website, mobile applications, SMS/text messaging communications, and any related services.
By accessing or using SolarSight, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you register for an account, subscribe to our services, request a solar estimate, or contact us. This may include: your name, email address, mobile phone number, company name, job title, billing and payment information, and any other information you choose to provide.
2.2 Property and Geographic Data
SolarSight is designed to assess commercial properties for solar potential. In connection with this Service, we collect and process: property addresses and geographic coordinates, building footprint and roof segment data, parcel boundary information, publicly available property ownership records, satellite and aerial imagery data, and building characteristics (size, orientation, shading factors).
2.3 Third-Party Data Sources
We aggregate data from various third-party sources to provide our Service, including: Google Solar API for building insights and solar analysis, Nearmap for high-resolution aerial imagery, NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory) for weather and production modeling data, utility rate databases for electricity pricing information, public property records and parcel data systems, and geocoding services for address verification.
2.4 Automatically Collected Information
When you access our Service, we automatically collect certain information, including: device information (browser type, operating system, device identifiers), IP address and approximate location, usage data (pages viewed, features used, search queries), cookies and similar tracking technologies, and log data (access times, duration of visits, referring URLs).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: provide, maintain, and improve our Service; generate solar site assessments, feasibility analyses, and financial projections; facilitate property prospecting and owner identification; process transactions and send related information; send administrative communications, service updates, and SMS verification codes; respond to your inquiries and provide customer support; analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience; detect, prevent, and address technical issues or fraudulent activity; comply with legal obligations; and enforce our terms, conditions, and policies.
4. SMS / Text Messaging Communications
4.1 Types of Messages
When you provide your mobile phone number and opt in, we may send you SMS text messages for the following purposes:
-
Account verification and authentication — one-time passcodes (OTPs) to verify your identity and secure access to your account.
-
Transactional notifications — confirmations, status updates, and service alerts relating to your account or requested estimates.
-
Customer service — responses to inquiries you have initiated.
SolarSight does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages.
4.2 Consent
You must expressly opt in to receive SMS messages from us by entering your mobile number in the SolarSight estimate or account registration flow and affirmatively confirming that you agree to receive text messages. By providing your mobile number and opting in, you consent to receive SMS messages from Phoenix Solar Group Inc. at the number provided.
4.3 Message Frequency, Rates, and Carrier Disclaimer
Message frequency varies based on your use of the Service. Message and data rates may apply. We are not responsible for any charges imposed by your mobile carrier. Message delivery is subject to the availability of your mobile carrier's network, and we do not guarantee delivery of every message.
4.4 Opt-Out / HELP
You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you send STOP, we will send a confirmation message, after which you will no longer receive SMS messages from us (except as required to complete transactions you have initiated). For help, reply HELP or contact us using the details in Section 12.
4.5 No Sharing of Mobile Information for Marketing
We do not sell, rent, lease, or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent information with any third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is shared only with service providers that support the delivery of our SMS messages (such as our messaging platform provider, Twilio Inc.) and only to the extent necessary to deliver the messages you have requested. This restriction applies to all categories of mobile information collected through the Service, including phone numbers and opt-in status, and this restriction is not waived by any other sharing disclosure elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.
4.6 Supported Carriers
SMS messages are sent via the Twilio messaging platform and are supported on all major US wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and their prepaid/MVNO brands. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5. Disclosure of Your Information
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
Service Providers. We may share information with third-party vendors, consultants, and service providers who perform services on our behalf, including payment processing, data analysis, email delivery, SMS/messaging delivery (Twilio Inc.), hosting services, and customer support. These providers are contractually restricted from using your information for their own purposes.
Advertising and Analytics Partners. We share certain online activity and hashed identifiers (as described in Section 9) with advertising and analytics platforms such as Meta and Google to measure and improve the performance of our advertising. As stated in Section 4.5, mobile phone numbers are never shared with these platforms for any purpose.
Business Transfers. In connection with any merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred to a successor entity.
Legal Requirements. We may disclose information when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
With Your Consent. We may share your information with third parties when you have given us explicit consent to do so.
Aggregated Data. We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
Mobile information exclusion. As stated in Section 4.5, mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are expressly excluded from the categories of information that may be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes under any of the circumstances described above.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Property assessment data and reports may be retained for historical reference and to improve our analytical models. SMS opt-in records (including the timestamp and source of consent) are retained for the duration of your opt-in status and for a minimum of three (3) years after opt-out, as required for compliance audit purposes. When you terminate your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, unless retention is required by law or legitimate business purposes.
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls and authentication requirements, regular security assessments, and employee training on data protection. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate or incomplete information; request deletion of your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing activities; data portability (receiving your data in a portable format); and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (including SMS consent, which may be withdrawn at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message). To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information provided in Section 12.
9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your browsing activities. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our Service.
9.1 Advertising and Analytics Pixels
We use advertising and analytics technologies from third-party platforms — including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Conversions API, Google Analytics, and Google Ads — to understand how visitors find and use our Service, to measure the performance of our advertising, and to show relevant ads to people who may be interested in solar. These technologies may be loaded and managed through a tag management system (such as Google Tag Manager). They collect information such as the pages you view, your device and browser, your IP address, and your interactions with our Service (for example, requesting a pre-qualification).
9.2 Advanced Matching
To improve the accuracy of advertising measurement and audience matching, we may share a limited set of identifiers with these advertising platforms in a hashed (one-way encoded) form — specifically your email address, name, and approximate location (such as city, state, or ZIP code). Certain of these events are transmitted from our servers in addition to your browser. We do not share your mobile phone number with any advertising platform for marketing, measurement, or audience-matching purposes; mobile phone numbers remain governed by Section 4.5.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites or services you access.
11. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
