Disclaimer
What a Solar Pre-Qualification is, what it is not, and the limits of the estimates we provide.
This Disclaimer explains the scope and limits of the information provided by SolarSight ("SolarSight", "we", "us", or "our"), a service of Phoenix Solar Group, through solarsight.io. Please read it alongside our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
1. Informational Purpose Only
The content on this Site and any Solar Pre-Qualification report we deliver are provided for general informational purposes only. They are intended to help property owners understand whether solar may be worth exploring further for their specific property. They are not intended as, and should not be relied on as, legal, financial, tax, engineering, or professional advice.
2. Not a Quote, Proposal, or Contract
A Solar Pre-Qualification is not a solar quote, design, engineering proposal, or contract. It is a data-backed indicative estimate, generated without a site visit, to help you decide whether to pursue a formal assessment with a licensed installer.
Receiving a Pre-Qualification does not obligate you to purchase anything, enter into any contract, or engage any installer. A formal solar installation requires a site assessment, engineering review, permitting, and a binding agreement with a licensed and qualified provider.
3. Estimates, Not Guarantees
Any dollar savings figures, system size recommendations, payback periods, incentive references, utility rate comparisons, or suitability ratings produced by SolarSight are estimates based on available data at the time of analysis. They are not guarantees of savings, system performance, eligibility, or financial outcome.
Actual savings, system output, and project economics depend on many factors outside our control, including but not limited to:
- The equipment selected and the quality of installation.
- Roof condition, structural capacity, shading, and future changes to the property.
- Your actual electricity usage patterns and household or business load profile.
- Changes to utility rates, rate structures, net metering policies, and interconnection rules.
- Changes to federal, state, or local tax credits, rebates, and other incentives, and your individual eligibility for them.
- Weather, seasonal variation, system degradation, and maintenance over the life of the system.
4. Third-Party Data
SolarSight's estimates are produced by combining third-party data sources, including Google Solar API (rooftop geometry and solar irradiance), Nearmap (aerial imagery), and the US Energy Information Administration Form 861 (utility and market data). These providers are independent of SolarSight. While we use reputable sources, we do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, currency, or availability of third-party data at the individual property level. Aerial imagery, roof measurements, utility rate data, and solar irradiance models are all subject to error, update cycles, and methodology assumptions.
5. No Financial, Tax, or Legal Advice
References to tax credits, incentives, rebates, utility programs, financing options, or payback periods are for general context only. We are not a licensed financial adviser, tax adviser, lawyer, or certified public accountant. Before making any financial, tax, or contractual decision, you should consult a qualified professional who can review your individual circumstances.
6. No Engineering or Code Certification
SolarSight does not perform structural engineering, electrical engineering, or code compliance review. The Pre-Qualification does not certify that a particular installation is feasible, safe, permittable, or compliant with applicable building codes, utility interconnection standards, or homeowner association rules. Those determinations must be made by appropriately licensed professionals during a formal assessment.
7. Geographic Scope
SolarSight's data coverage and accuracy are optimised for the District of Columbia and Maryland market. Pre-Qualifications produced for addresses outside that market (where technically possible) may be less accurate, and some features of the service may not be available.
8. No Endorsement of Installers
Where SolarSight refers you to a solar advisor or installer (including Phoenix Solar Group's affiliated installation brand), that referral is made for your convenience and does not constitute an endorsement, warranty, or guarantee of the work, equipment, pricing, or conduct of any third-party installer. Any agreement you enter into with an installer is solely between you and that installer.
9. Forward-Looking Statements
Estimates of future savings, utility costs, or payback periods are forward-looking statements based on assumptions that may prove incorrect. Past performance of solar installations generally is not a reliable indicator of the performance of any specific future installation.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SolarSight, Phoenix Solar Group, and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and data providers shall not be liable for any loss, damage, cost, or expense — whether direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive — arising out of or related to your reliance on any information on this Site or in any Pre-Qualification report, including any decision to install, not install, purchase, or finance a solar system. See our Terms of Use for the full limitation of liability.
11. Changes to this Disclaimer
We may update this Disclaimer from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Disclaimer.
