About SolarSight

A Solar Pre-Qualification Platform Built by Solar Industry Professionals.

SolarSight exists because getting a straight answer about whether solar makes financial sense for your property should not require a site visit or a two-hour sales presentation.

Origin

The SolarSight Story

SolarSight was built by Phoenix Solar Group, a solar company with direct operational experience in the DC and Maryland market. The platform exists because the team saw how opaque and sales-heavy the solar assessment process had become for homeowners and commercial property owners.

Getting a straight answer about whether solar makes financial sense for a specific property should not require a site visit or a two-hour sales presentation. SolarSight was built to fix that.

It combines Google Solar API data, Nearmap aerial imagery, and EIA utility data to give property owners a credible, data-backed pre-qualification in under two minutes. The platform is available directly to DC and Maryland property owners through solarsight.io, and through a network of trusted solar partners.

Why We Built This

The DC and Maryland market is heavily advertised and increasingly cynical. Homeowners have seen the ads, dealt with the door-to-door visits, and still don't have a clear answer on whether solar makes sense for their home. SolarSight changes that.

Our Approach

How We Think About Solar Pre-Qualification

📊

Data, not guesswork.

Every SolarSight pre-qualification is built from verified, current data. We do not use national averages or generic estimates. Your pre-qualification reflects your property, your roof, and your local utility rates.

🕐

Your timeline, not ours.

A pre-qualification is not a trigger for a sales process. You receive your results by email and decide what happens next. If you want to speak to a solar advisor, we make that easy. If you do not, that is equally fine.

🤝

Honesty over hype.

If solar does not make financial sense for a property, SolarSight will tell you that. The solar industry has a trust problem. Our job is to be part of the solution — not to maximise conversions at the expense of accuracy.

Common Questions

What DC & MD Homeowners Are Asking

"Is solar actually worth it for my house?"
It depends on your roof, your utility rate, and your current usage. That is exactly what SolarSight calculates. Most DC homeowners on Pepco save an average of $2,340 per year. Your property may be different — we'll show you the real number.
"Will I get bombarded with sales calls?"
No. SolarSight delivers your pre-qualification to your inbox. We do not pass your details to installers without your permission. No automatic sales calls, no third-party hand-offs.
"How accurate is this?"
Your pre-qualification is based on Google Solar API data, Nearmap aerial imagery, and EIA utility data. It is not a guaranteed quote — but it is built on the same data used by leading solar companies in the US. It is the most accurate picture you can get without a site visit.
"How long does this take?"
Under two minutes from address entry to results in your inbox.
